Creation and
dissolution….Creation and dissolution….creation and again dissolution.
The world is created and then dissolves, again
creation after dissolution and dissolution after creation, then again creation…
and it goes on ad infinitum. It
is a never ending process according to
Hindu scriptures. According to the Bible, world was created by God in 6 days and on the 7th day
God rested . One day is equal to 1000 human years in 2nd Peter chapter 3 verse
8; the Quran says one day is equal to 50000 years -- 70/4 .For them
present world has been created for the first time and the end will be the final
end.[Islam tells of a new world ,after this one ends] About the Hindu model Carl Segan in Cosmos[ 1985] page 258 observes: “ the Hindu dharm is the only one of the
world's great faiths dedicated to the idea that the cosmos itself undergoes an
immmense, indeed an infinite, number of births and deaths and rebirths .It is
the only dharma in which time scales correspond to those of modern scientific
cosmology. Its cycles run from our ordinary day and night to day and night of
Brahma 8.64 billions long, longer than the age of the earth or the sun and
about half of the time since the big bang.’’ For the Jains the world
always existed; the Sikhs believe that
in the beginning only Waheguru existed who created everything; the Buddhist
maintain that the world has no
beginning.
Now the creation according to Sanatan Dharm.
The details are given in Rig Vedaऋग्वेद 10.129, Bhagavad Gita, भगवद गीता , Bhagwat Mahapuranभागवतमहापुराण and Sankhya सांख्य philosophy .
In the beginning there was no activity, everything was at rest,
everything was in God and God decreed “ let ME be
manifold’’.This disturbed the state of stability.Prakriti, प्रकृति which was
in God in a state of rest became active
and then the creation started. This is called planting of the seed by God in
the womb of Prakriti, esoterically saying---gGta14/4. In plain language it means
that countless souls are given different bodies according to their individual
karmas. This gives birth to Mahtatva महत्त्व .This is
supposed to be the first product of the evolution of Prakriti. Mahat produces Ahamkar अहंकार . From the Saatvik aspect of Ahamkar comes man [मन ]the five sense organs or gyan
indri[ज्ञानइन्द्रिय ],
functions of sight smell taste touch and sound : five senses of action
that is karma indriya [कर्मइंद्रिया ],functions of speech apprehension
movement excretion and reproduction. Tamas तामस aspect of Ahmkar begets 5
tanmatras तन्मात्रा ,ie
essences of sight, smell, taste ,touch and sound.Ahamkar in its Rajasराजस aspect
plays a role in both; the five tanmatra evolve into the 5 gross elements
that is Panchmahabhoot: Aakash, Vayu, ,Agni, Jal and Dhartiपंच महाभूत :आकाश वायु अग्नि जल धरती . Thus creation starts by the decree
or Sankalp संकल्प
of the Omnipotent. Apart from Prakriti , Kallकाल ie. Time
and Souls ie. jeeves जीव are also involved .This resolve of
the Almighty is called the first
action, adi carm आदिकर्म .The Sanskrit word
is tyag त्याग which means renouncing the state of rest
that existed during the pralay प्रलय or dissolved state of the universe ..Gita
8/3..
The creation is the
job of the plenary part of almighty
Krishna, also called Maha Vishnu . Maha Vishnu creates spaces called
brahmands or universes .For each brahmand this Maha Vishnu creates a
Vishnu , a Brahma ,and a Mahesh; every such Vishnu is the preserver, every
Brahma is the creator and every
Mahesh is the destroyer in that particular universe.
Brahma lives for 100
years according to his own estimate;he has
completed 50 years of his cycle; this is his 51st year .One day of his
is 4.32 billion years for us and is one kalp . The present kalpa is Swetvarah
Kalp , the present Yuga or age is the 28th Kaliyug. In the last age
,that is, the 28 Dwaper Yug, God himself
that is Krishna made his descent about 5000 years ago. Up till now the sun and
the earth have been renewed 18000 times. About renovation, Sri Prakashanand
writes in his book True History and Religion of India at page 455:’’ Thus
the current age of the sun is 1 55.52
trillion years .’’ Citing Brham Vavarta Purana Prakarti khand [ ब्रह्मवैवर्तपुराण प्रकृतिखंड ] 54/74, he explains
that after every 15 years of Brahma there is a prelay or dissolution called
greater pralay.Since present creation our planet has been fully transformed 3
times, the life remaining for our earth and sun is[4.320 --
1.972=]2.348Billion
years.
Creation in reality
is grace of God. He gives an opportunity to bonded- souls Maya badh
jeev[मायाबद्ध जीव ]to seek liberation. After one day of
Brahma, called kalp, equal to 4 Arab 32 crore=4.32 billion years of human beings ,He goes to
sleep. This is daily d i s s o l u t i o n [नैमत्तिक प्रलय ]. it lasts for one night of Brahma while
he lies asleep. When he wakes up creation
again starts. The day of Brahma is creation and night of Brahma is
dissolution. This process goes on and on. One year of Brahma is 360 days
and equal number of nights. When he completes 100 years by his count, his life
comes to an end. When this occurs we have mahapralaya महाप्रलय , when everything comes to an end. All the
materials worlds ,which remain in existence in daily dissolution , are
also destroyed. In dissolution the
process is reverse of creation. The last one to come into existence that is
Panch mahabhoot[पंचमहाभूत ] are the first ones
to dissolve. And the first one to come into existence that is Mahatatvaमहतत्व is the last one to merge into its cause…...
the Mahatatva goes into Prakriti.Gross
matter melts into its causal form. Both Prakruti and Purushपुरुष come to a
standstill. There is no activity. There is no time. All have gone into the
prime cause. Only the Almighty remains. And Almighty is at rest. How long this rest lasts nobody knows because there is
no time. This state remains till the
Almighty again declares to become many. This decree creates disturbance in
Prakriti and creation starts once again as has been explained above. Creation
and dissolution are, therefore, , never ending and are without beginning .
It is pertinent to
mention that ,the Divine abodes--Golokगोलोक ,Saket साकेत ,Kailash कैलाश ,Manidweepमणिद्वीप etc---.are eternal;.they are not subject to
change. All others from our earth to abode of Brhma ब्रह्मा are perishable. Souls going to divine abodes are
not born again...Gita15/6.
In every kalp the
events are not identically same.In Yogvashishta divine crow Kak Bhushandi[काकभुशंडि ] informs sage Vashishta that he has seen different outcomes of
mahabharat and is tired of watching Daksh’s yagya. In Shrimad Bhagvat which is
of paadam kalp पादमकल्प ,king Parikshat gets
liberation(ब्रह्म में स्थित ) before being
bitten by snake Takshak...12.6.13. However,Devi Bhagvat tells us that he goes
to Devi’s Mani dweep , that too,` after his son Janamjaye performs Devi- yagya(देवी भागवत श्रवण ) for him on rishi Vyas’s advice...12.13
DeviBbagvat. This is because the latter narrative is of Sarasvat kalp सारस्वतकल्प.We have clarified this at length in ‘pralay
’.
.When pralay occurs
do our karmas end ? After all we
enter our first cause.
No.We begin from where we ended in the last life. ’’It is like a game of
cricket,we start next day as we were on the last day-----with the same score.’’
Thus explains Jagatgurutam Kripaluji.
=Bible:2Peter3/10,
Quran:69/13-16, Bhagvat:12/ 4//6-21 have one point in common---end of the
world is accompanied by tremendous turbulance with heat, great
noise, melting away, rains and mountains crushed and carried away.Noah’s book
Gen.ch.7 is about floods. End is as expected on a specified time in Hindu scriptures, comes
announced in Quran also ;however, like a thief in the Bible.
